Almost 40 degrees, a line of trees right behind us, and ten colored smoke shots to set up. That was the starting point for Román and Tetiana's wedding at Mas de la Sala.

We came to the venue the day before so we could see the space for ourselves and decide exactly where everything should go. With that kind of heat and the trees so close, we knew we wanted to use colored smoke without sparks.

We also checked the local fire-risk level the day before the wedding. Whenever we work with pyrotechnics, safety and the conditions at the venue always come first.

Ten smoke shots forming an arc

We prepared ten colored smoke shots: two yellow, two pink, three orange and three green.

We arranged them in an arc around the couple, keeping the setup away from the trees and finding the right position for all ten colors to work together visually.

This time, we also had our drone ready to capture everything from above.

Just the couple, the color and the landscape

One of the details we paid particular attention to was keeping all the technical equipment out of the shot.

In the photos and video, you can't see a single cable or tube. Just Román and Tetiana, the landscape, and ten columns of color opening up behind them.

And the result was exactly what we wanted.

And that wasn't the only effect at the wedding

The colored smoke was only one part of what we prepared that day.

We also set up our photo booth, and for the first dance we created our Cinderella effect, with heavy low-lying fog covering the dance floor while Román and Tetiana danced on a cloud.

But that part of the wedding deserves a story of its own.
